Overview
This project was a collaboration between Tendril and ESPN to create a brand film and visual language that captured the energy, excitement, and competitive spirit of the College Football Playoff. Using a rich visual metaphor, the film brought the intensity of the season to life while celebrating the journey of the nation’s top teams.
One of the biggest challenges was designing a system flexible enough to accommodate the final playoff rankings, which were still being determined during production. The 60-second hero film needed to remain fluid and adaptable, showcasing the top four teams as soon as they were announced.
In addition to the hero film, we created a suite of cutdowns and marketing assets, along with a comprehensive toolkit that allowed colors, logos, and other team-specific elements to be updated quickly and seamlessly. This ensured the campaign could be customized and deployed at a moment’s notice while maintaining a polished look.
